01 Jan Social Media monitoring
I will always say this if you have a business you need to be on social media. Whether you have a business or company set up on just one social media platform, or multiple or you are merely browsing on your personal account, there is a lot of data and information being published every single second of the day, how can you not use this to your advantage?
We are in a digital age, where mobile phones and tablets are the lifelines to the outside world, it dictates consumer behaviour when it comes to business and trending environmental changes. It can ‘make’ or ‘break’ a business. So monitoring social media is imperative and should be used as your digital marketing strategy.
All platforms have some form of analytics or alternatively you can use a tool like Sprout Social or Hootsuite to monitor yours and others social influence. If you ignore it, you could be potentially missing out on an opportunity or falling behind with a change in the industry and customers tastes.
Monitoring keywords & phrases, that associates with your business is key. Seeing the posts that worked and also looking at posts that didn’t gain much momentum will give you the foundation for future months posts.
Feedback and reviews are a great way to find out if you are winning in social media selling or taking a nose dive! This not only goes for your own business but also your competitors too, monitor what is working for them, check their feedback see how their consumers are responding and rating their services and products. Trust me, if you don’t you are missing out on critical information. MONITOR!
I was talking to a friend that runs a very successful business in Surrey & explained to me that if someone writes something bad or their social media they rip it down, so it doesn’t affect the perception of the business. My question was why? The initial reaction was – ‘They are sabotaging my business’. The lesson here folks – A consumer who is dissatisfied with your service or product will only splatter or spurt it somewhere else. You can try and remove it, but there will be a point when you can no longer delete it or try and hide the information being published online, however you can keep a track of it and listen to what your audience and industry is saying and use it to ensure your product or service is improved. But do that…………. What do you have to do?
All together now – MONITOR IT!
