Hashtag your week in social media

Hashtag your week in social media

It may sound like Craig David’s hit single 7 Days, but to hashtag your content on certain days week-on-week with popular campaigns can get you involved in the fun, and also recognised for engaging and shareable content. These hashtags trend on social media channels such as Twitter and Instagram so are an effective way of getting your posts noticed by a wider audience.

We have picked out the best hashtags and provided a brief description of what each hashtag campaign will do and how to implement them. The good thing about weekly hashtags is that they are consistent and you can either schedule them out or ask a social media agency (cough, cough, like us) to do this for you.

Here are our favorites:

#MondayBlues – Feeling your audiences pain of starting a new week at work? Make a joke or alternatively find a quote in Google Images images and create your own image in Canva. Whatever you do, post it up first thing on Monday morning or even better schedule it out the week before.

#MotivationalMonday – Be the influencer in your domain and inspire your follower’s to be more positive about their week ahead by finding a well written quote by someone famous or hey you can even make up your own, just include the hashtag!

#TipTuesday – Great for any business, this is your chance to be the expert in your industry and share your knowledge and advice on something that could really benefit your audience. Free information is always well received by consumers and also very shareable.

#TravelTuesday – This is a tricky one and could be limited to some companies. However, if you are in any way connected with the travel industry, this is a great one to get involved with. Post beautiful and inspiring images that you have visited, with recommendations on the local area and knowledge.

#TuesdayTreat – Good if you like to offer a weekly freebie! Also good for gaining more followers if you add a call to action to like your business page with it.

#CharityTuesday – This is a great one to use to help promote the charities you support and show your corporate responsibility endeavours to your audience.

#WisdomWednesday or #WednesdayWisdom – Very similar to #MotivationMonday; use this to share words of wisdom to your followers and give them something to think about.

#WellnessWednesday – Again like #TravelTuesday this can be somewhat limited to the health and fitness brands, however if you do fall into this category, then congratulations. Great for fitness, well-being and beauty based brands.

#ThursdayThoughts – Similar to #TipTuesday, this hashtag is useful to voice your opinions. As always, be careful with voicing your opinions so they don’t cause offence or alienate any particular audiences and make sure they are inline with your company’s values. Voicing your expertise would be a good way of using this hashtag to stay professional and not political.

#TBT or #ThrowbackThursday – Oh! This is one of the best campaigns and everyone can get involved in this. So dig out old photos of work colleagues, areas, locations like your premises, products, songs, literally anything that people can get nostalgic about.

#FollowFriday – Great for announcing your new Twitter followers and giving them some recognition every Friday!

#FridayFun or #FridayFunny – Show everyone that your company has a personality and can be fun and light-hearted sometimes. Great for breaking up the more serious social media posts with some humour. Who doesn’t like a bit of light-relief during their working day?

We do also have some weekend ones for you such as #SocialSaturday and #SelfieSunday.

So if you were wondering what to sometimes post during the week, here you have it! We hope that this blog post has provided you with some inspiration and some ideas on how to get on the hashtag bandwagon and get your hashtag ON! It’s fun, cool and it will get your business page some momentum, reshares, likes, followers and most of all will make your business popular on social media.
